I’ve been daydreaming quite a bit lately. The end of summer and the start of work and school have me constantly wishing I were on vacation. Wouldn’t you just love to pack a suitcase and buy a ticket to somewhere—anywhere? Oh, a girl can dream.
While I can’t always just up and go at the drop of a hat, I travel any chance I get. There’s a lot of world to see, and I want to see all of it. What they say is true: to travel is to live. Not only will the adventure take you to cool places and the best beaches, but it’ll will change the way you approach life.
If you need a little more convincing than that, I’ve mustered up a few reasons we should all become a world explorers…
The people. I always find it so interesting to explore a new place simply because of the locals. The way they live, eat and communicate is often times so different to the way we do things at home. It’s a chance to learn a little culture.
The food. That’s a reason to get on a plane in and of itself, need I elaborate?
The stories. The things you get up to abroad make for the best tales. Whether you and your friends find yourself skinny dipping in the Pacific, or you run into the heir to the throne in London, there will always be a story to tell. Good times are had, and better stories follow!
The real world experience. Reading about Rome online and actually walking through the Sistine Chapel are two totally different things. It’s one thing to learn about a place by reading about someone else’s travels, but to experience it for yourself is the only way you’ll really know.
Gaining a new perspective. When you’re 5,000 miles away, suddenly you realize there is so much more going on in the world than the small troubles you usually concern yourself with. You’re a person in a big, big world, and sometimes it takes getting away to see that. Truthfully, you’ll be a changed person by the time you arrive home.
So, I can wholeheartedly say that travel is a vital part of our existence. We are not meant to stay in one place, that’s why we have feet! Even if it means getting out of our comfort zones for a while, trying new things and experiencing new cultures give life new meaning. Go explore everything the world has to offer, you can thank me later
Happy travels my lovely fashionistas,
